a co. name that was inaudible, then some junk about my checking account being in good standing, hotel and airline free gift offers, then wanted to verify my address, name on my account and then ' what bank do you use?' I told him no way I was telling him that and had never heard of such a call before, then he hung up. Should I report that to someone and if so who?

Good for you!!! If you think it might help I would for sure notify your local Fed's office and I would also try contacting the FCC (Federal communication Center) if they think that its worth their while. All you can do is see, if they might be able to do something here, with it being a phonecall. If you do this, I wish you luck!

If you got the call on your home phone, I'd put your home phone number on the national Do Not Call list, here: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

You can also find the Do Not Call list for your state by typing "Do Not Call" and your state into Yahoo! or Google.

It might not curb the activity of the company/person/service who originally called you, but it'll help prevent things like that happening in the future.

Good thing you are smart, That was a scam for sure, no one can tell you anything about your bank acct except the bank. I hear about that kind of thing all the time, my motto is never give anything out to anyone.

Since you didn't get the name of the company, there is nothing you can do about this call.

Call your local police department and inform them of the call.
