The only light that looks remotely like a fan is the "check engine" light that indicates that the on-board diagnostic system has detected a problem in the fuel and emission control system. This light will be yellow in color and the light will be in the upper left of the pod of warning lights that is between the tachometer and the speedometer.

If that is the light that you have on, then you'll need to have it diagnosed to find out why it has been triggered. There are literally a hundred or more reasons why that light will come on. In most cases the light is on because a condition exists that could lead to excessive vehicle emissions and you won't feel the car driving any differently. Because its not driving any differently doesn't mean that you won't do damage to the car by driving it with the light on.

hope that helps

Not sure exactly, but my '93 Mercedes has a similar light, and when it comes on it means it's time to change the brake pads, or so says the owner's manual.

is your AC on? If not it might be that your cooling fan (by the radiator on the front of the car) might be busted. I'm no mechanic but that's the first stuff that came to mind.

Is your car getting hot?
