Go to college and major in theater. Often students get to direct productions. That's the best way to begin. See if you contiune to have an interest to be a director.

It would be wise to take Theater -101 in college then take drama. I'm a third year student in college and I have had Theater-101 you will learn all the basic theatrical "-isms" which a director must know.

i would take both if possible, but i think they would both prove to be valuable in your future carear. Directors should know how to act as to direct the actors, but they will work behind the scenes and will have to know how production works, too.

t.v. production. in drama, you will be acting. and unless you want to be a theatre director, you probably don't want to do that.
