Doesn't it annoy you, that when you talk of something great you've done, someone else has done it either bigger or better then you?

Yeah, like the time I jumped out of an airplane or the time I went hang gliding or the time I went cliff diving and things like that.

but hey, you minus well face it. anything you do, there will always be someone else out there that did that same thing a little better. so maybe the next time you do that, you will try a little harder and you accomplish a little if not a lot more. but if you're happy about what you've done, don't let other ppl get in front of your accomplishment. just keep your head up high. if that's the best you could do, that's all that counts. :)

but i do agree, it blows when someone does that.

At the moment, because they stole my thunder! but in the end, it the same people who have been there and done that that give you the motivation and insight to do either the same thing better than they did, or do something else better. nobody has done everything the best; there is bound to be something that the ppl who have been there and done that has not done very well, giving you the opportunity to shine.

I guess it would. But it hasn't happened to me yet.

Mostly, I keep quiet to avoid raining on other people's stories.

For example, a coworker told how she and her daughter spent 3 days in Costa Rica and sampled some coffees. She marvelled at how her 26 year old daughter was so adventurous.

My then-20 year old daughter spent 4 weeks in the Costa Rica rainforest on a biology in the field class, and had lots of real adventures, great photos, and an 'A' to boot.

I said NOTHING except 'that's wonderful' to my coworker's story. Why make her feel small?

It annoys me once in a while but my achievements are mostly so far out of the mainstream that no one competes with me and I don't compete with others. Not bragging, most of it is just pretty weird. For example, I have been present for the deaths of several Catholic Sisters although I am not Catholic myself. No one seems to want to top that.

.....a horny well query I consider. It is a intricate venture in taking an opinion or to move for one aspect aid. Therefore, to be sincere and to supply a reasonable judgment, its a long way bigger to contain either one of them to be well peers like as earlier than and then you definitely become a member of with them to be sincere and well peers endlessly. Good friendship is a long way bigger than getting separated and related to into undesirable disorders. .....Must constantly discover a bigger method to remedy a trouble greater than isolating a friendship as a way to deliver no earnings on the finish. (I like this question very a lot, valuable and rewarding)

Terribly annoying! Are there no new things left to do out there? No new frontier my friends don't know about?

I hate that! What makes it great, is when you find out that they really haven't been there or done that!
