Thermal energy transfer in the atmosphere occurs mainly by:
a) convection
b) conduction
c) global wind patterns
d) re-emission of infrared radiation

It is either conduction or convection... does anyone know what occurs mainly?

Convection occurs in fluids (liquids and gases) and conduction occurs in solids. Therefore convection is the correct answer.

I am much younger. I would not know. Can you vote me best answer? I have suggestions though: Look it up. ...Or... listen to someone else. Maybe one day I can understand what your words mean. You seem so smart. Although, when I was MUCH younger I did reach Gone With The Wind, and I was able to understand it. Trust me, a lot younger than you expect.

i think its conduction because conduction means the passing of heat from molecule to molecule
