I'm a bi-guy that emailed another guy here in Yahoo! Answers coz I think we're of the same wavelength. (Note: We're not really gay.) We are now chatmates and we talk somehow regularly by chatting. He says I may not be the best of all his friends but I'm up there. He also says I'm awesome and nice to talk too. We really have great time whenever we talk, no dead air...just spontaneous conversation. He also asked me what I like in a guy....
Are we just friends or what?

It definitely sounds like a little flirting to me. If you're sure he's comfortable with his sexuality you might try the direct approach and ask him where he sees it going. Otherwise keep up the friendship and let things happen on their own.
