I can see the Rockies making the wild card or at least make a run for it. They are only 5 games out at this time and they're playing great baseball. Their pitching is questionable, but good enough to keep them in games. To me the scary thing about the Rockies is that the first bit of the season Helton and Holliday were all that was keeping the team afloat, but now other hitters are coming alive. Hawpe has been hitting real well the last few weeks and Atkins is starting to come out of his slump. Those four, Holliday, Helton, Hawpe, and Atkins all hit over 20 home runs last year. Not too mention they have Taveras and Matsui at the top of the lineup now, both can hit and both have speed. Check the stats of how the Rockies have played ever since Matsui came off the DL, if I recall they have one of the best records in baseball since that time. They're offensive power makes up for the pitching staff.

Then you add in the chemistry, a lot of these young guys they have playing came up together in A ball, AA ball and AAA ball.

Do they have a chance once they make the playoffs? Probably not. Can they make the playoffs, yes.

Personally, I think the Rockies belong in the American League. Last year they the best NL team against the AL in interleague play. And so far they are still doing well against the AL. I think they are built to play in the AL.

The Rockies just don't have the depth yet to compete consistently. Helton returning to form (albeit without the same power) is encouraging, and Matt Holiday is a stud. Their pitching still concerns me more than anything. We'll see how things go this year...I'm not detecting the playoffs, but there's hope in Colorado these days.

Yeah, go Rockies! They took the series from the Red Sox and my Yankees are climbing back to take the AL East title away from the Red Sox, who don't really want it anyway. I think they'd rather be viewed as the underdog to the big, bad New York Yankees. Anyways, I don't know about their pitching. It's really unrealiable. I can't see them make the playoffs. Sorry man. Best of luck to them though (except when they're playin the Bronx Bombers!)

I desired the Colorado Rockeis to win it, seeing that the Boston Red Sox had already gained it in 2004. But if the Boston Red Sox hadn't already gained it in 2004. And the equal manger helped them win it two times, and so they additionally had performed it the moment time in three years, and a pair of occasions underneath the final two Chicago Cubs mangers, Dusty Baker and Lou Piniella, and in Lou's first season at the north facet. But the Colorado Rockies performed like junior variation of the Chicago Cubs, even the way in which they performed towards the Arizona Diamondbacks. Who is aware of, will they win ti once more in 2010? Good factor that we have got two years to discover that out, extra then two years to discover out the reply to this question.

I agree with most of the peoples here, the Rockies are a solid club but not quite to challenge for the playoffs. The NL west is filled with too many contenders, any those other clubs have the pitching, which the Rockies lack of.Guys like Peavy(SD),Penny(LA),Johnson(ARZ),and Webb(ARZ).Those guys are true aces and can win any game for you.The Rockies do have potential guys like Francis and Cook who can pitch but are young and inexperience. The bats are there with Helton,Holliday, but they will do well in the future.

I don't think they have the talent to make the playoffs yet. But then again, nobody thought the Tigers did last year. One of their major problems is the depth of their division: not only do they have to keep pace with the Dodgers, Padres, and Diamondbacks, but they also play alot of games against them because of the unbalanced schedule. So playing in the NL West will definitely hurt them.

I am a big rockies fan and i know them so i can tell you. I see them winning wild card and maybe a division title. Recently they have ruled the west, and if they keep playing like this, as long as LA or San Diego doesn't heat up, they could have 1st. Go Helton, Holliday, Francis.

I don´t think so, even though they beat the best team in baseball right now away and their batting is coming around there are too many question marks in their pitching, specially down the stretch, even for the less hitting national league, they have no legitimate relief and Coors Field will always be a nightmare for home pitcher´s ERA. Until they get some strong starters and a decent relief I see no playoff hopes for them

Possible wild card contenders, nice to see them spank the Red Sox the last couple nights.

I see the Rockies finishing third in the West behind the Dodgers and Padres. The Rockies still need to improve their pitching staff - mainly by adding depth and better back of the rotation starters.
