Sayed,
My favorite way to research paint brushes is to go to my annual art catalogs. They like to explain, in fairly good detail, what each type of brush does. My favorite is CheapJoesArtStuff. Another is JerrysArtarama.

as a general rule buy the best brushes you can afford. /Painting stores will say which brushes are for watercolor or for acrylic or oil painting. they will have packages of cheaper brushes or deals on buying a few.
The larger the painting the larger the brush. Most artist collect a pot full of brushes after awhile and a lot of it is trial and error for brands. My favorite brush and the only brand I buy now for oil and acrylics is 'RUBY Silver "bright" brushes" which can be purchased at www. misterart.com. A bright brush is a brush with a square shape which is thinner at the end for a almost knife like edge. I prefer this to a pointed brush as I can use the corner to get the same effect for detail and it is very versatile. I have these brushes in every size they make.
I also have a few 4 inch wide brushes for blending large washes and bigger areas

Note: www.misterart.com has the best prices for art materials on the web I have found.

Depends what paint you're using and what effect you want. Generally, though, thick paints call for stiffer brushes, while thin paints call for softer brushes.
