Scientists, teachers, researchers, professors, social workers, writers, artists, and others define success in non-monetary ways, but the least educated, least informed, most fundamentalist far right Fox News and hate radio lemmings continually attack these people.
Why? Because they fear and loath what they refuse to understand, or worse - are incapable of understanding.

What is going now is no different. History shows that the first to be 'disappeared' are the intellectuals, artists ,writers ! Those things happen at the start of all the fascist regimes. The fear and loathing part, is how the neo-cons get the poor suckers to go along with the plan, not knowing that they will be in the gulag with us too ! It looks like China is gonna make us their 'punk' !

ROFLMAO! This is an idiotic question. Who is putting any of these people down? Give some examples.
As for hating success, look at the democrats. They push socialist govt. and entitlement programs which are ALL designed to keep people dependent on the program. Talk about hating success.
As for the definition of success, that is a personal definition. Republicans understand it, but those idiot liberals who are brainwashed by the leadership in the democratic party (who are VERY RICH by the way) have actually been convinced that being wealthy is actually bad.
I laugh at this because I have had liberals say that I am greedy because I have become independently wealthy, but I donate more to charity than they earn in a year, and they call ME greedy. Do I define my success by how much money I have? No, it is defined by my family, my ability to impact those around me by donating time, money, knowledge, etc.
I would love to see you read "Who Really Cares"...but be careful. You will change your mind about republicans.

Well I am Republican and I market products for crippled pets. And yes I am successful at it. No I don't hate success.
Your question is a bit amusing.
But then again I made my business a success.
I didn't do it the democrat way Kennedy-Inherit it, Kerry-Heinz-Marry it, or Robert Byrd-Extort.
So your right I guess. By your standards I am not a success...

Let me see if I understand this,
You have to be a democrat to be successful? Wow had no idea you narcissist, thought all America's had the benefit to work hard and become successful regardless of political affiliation.
Could this guy be taken seriously anywhere else than here with all of the ill-informed uber-liberals.

It is Democracy and Freedom that made this country great. When people are kept from the truth and lied to, they cannot make intelligent decisions. The Republicans and Democrats have decided they know what is best for us. They want to make the decisions for us. If we don't hold them responsible they will destroy us. Bush and his partners should be in jail, yet they have not even been impeached yet. We are spoiled and need to get off our rears and get'r done.

Where did you get this idea? Did you conduct a survey? Can you cite a survey?
I was a journalist for more than 15 years and interviewed all classes of people and they ALL like success and the nice things success brings, yes, even money.
You are idealizing and fantasizing. Your world doesn't exist.

No way, Democrats are the ones who mess everything up and hate success. If you think this country is in bad shape now, you better pray a democrat doesn't get in office next election. Well be on the ground right here in combat instead of over there.

Do you really think an artist would consider their music a success if it didn't sell? Do you think an artist would consider their movie a success.. if nobody paid to see it? Do you think an artist would consider their painting a success if they couldn't sell it? Of course not. Neither would an inventor whose invention never made a dime or a writer who never sold a copy of their book.
I realize you're a liberal, and thinking is not something that comes natural to you. But you can do better than this.

Most the scientists I have met are conservatives. I'm just saying, maybe they don't hate success as much as you think.
