I saw somebody blow off all their fingers on one hand when a solution of hydrazoic acid blew up. Very tragic.

I saw a Mark 48 Torpedo on a live fire exercise hit a target derelict ship. Red fireball, lots of black smoke, went down like a stone in about 5 minutes.

As far as chemistry, I was trying to make a green flame firework. It wasn't lighting so I got frustrated and added a potassium permanganate - magnesium powder, flash mix and lit it without a fuse. Destroyed my lighter, burned my hand pretty bad, singed my facial hair, and was temporarily blind. Don't get hasty, remember safety.

We were making fireworks for an inorganic lab, and one of them went off two feet from me, it was very hot, it burn creators into the bench top and also into the concret floor.
