Never. To put yourself in debt for something that will no doubt cause you to have to delay building your future is unwise. You will be much better off saving your money until you can afford to pay cash. It would be helpful to come to an agreement as to what type of wedding you want so you can plan a budget and then develop a savings plan.

I would not have to take out a loan cuz I already have the money for a wedding. Define expensive? Is it more than 500 hundred thousand which is what I spent on my wedding?

We would never have taken out a loan for our wedding. It was 1971, we had known each other for 17 days and we could not afford a fancy wedding. (It cost about $100 LOL!)
Watch the many celebrities who spend lavishly on their weddings. I believe that, in the majority of cases, the more money that's spent, the sooner the marriage is spent as well...and into divorce court.

NO WAY!
your going to have enough issues as a newly wed without all the extra debt. My wife and I spent under 8k and we got married on the beach in the Caribbean. We had NO stress before and no debt after! Everyone I know regrets spending all that $$$ on 1 night that you'll stress out about for months and hardly remember the next day and pay for over the next 5 years.

I was married once. The wedding was in Beverly Hills, CA.
If I ever get married again, I'd like to do it on the beach with only my closest family & friends.
It seems like it would be a lot more romantic than in a place like we did before.
A wedding can be beautiful without spending a ton of money.

I want a big wedding but not enough to put myself in debt.
I would take out a small loan that I can afford to pay back fast.
You can have a affordable nice wedding for now and save up until your 5th or 10th anniversary and then go all out a renew your fows.

Absolutely not. I never dreamt of my wedding day as a little girl and now that I'm engaged, I actually keep putting it off. Not because I don't want to be married, but because I don't want to deal with the whole wedding thing! My wedding will be as cheap and no fuss as possible!

I wouldn't take a loan for an expensive wedding. Not no way, not no how. My wife and I got married for a whopping $150 at a drive-thru in Vegas.

No way. My entire wedding cost $300. I bought a vintage dress/veil from ebay and we got married in a hot air balloon. Was the most amazing feeling I have ever had.

My response is based on experience. I spent over $3000 for my oldest daughter's wedding. They lasted 6 months. I think it came to $20 a day. No, I don't think that was one of my best investments. Stay within your budget & Good Luck.
