when you first got it, you need to know more than it just being a pavilion, you need to look up the model#, s/n#, and stuff like that. the best i can tell you is go to control panel > click on system or performance then system > and it'll show you how much is currently there

look around on your case, and see if you can find a model number. My best guess is that if it was purchased after 2003 it probably has 512MB. I'm about 90% sure of that, but there is a chance it has more or less... real doubtful though.

if it hasnt been changed goto start my computer right click and goto properties and read the product specs it should show the amount of ram
