Yes, I have been lonely but it has more to do with my needs not being met than with being alone. I am a single mom of 4 kids that works full time and owns a home. You would think my hectic life would not allow for loneliness! But when the blues hit, I lose energy, focus and the ability to follow through.

One thing I will do is play music- energetic, gotta move to it music. NO SAD LOVE SONGS!!! LOL I pick one thing to accomplish and work at it til it's done. It may be the only thing I get done that day, but I try to use the positve accomplishment feeling to spur me on to do more.

I have some close friends that are also very busy, but I will try to contact them and talk it out. If I can't reach them I will email so at least I am organizing my thoughts.

Sometimes I just pull the covers over my head (on the weekend) and say scr** it, I'm not dealing with anything for another hour! At least when the kids are with their dad.

Maybe emailing people that have sparked your interest here on yahoo would lead to interesting conversation?

If the "blues" are ongoing, or last for weeks at a time it may be time to consider medical intervention. I have no insurance so I try to muddle through the blues as best I can, but you may have other options.

Sorry if I dumped more than I helped- this question touched a nerve that I didn't realize was so close to the surface. Thanks for asking it!

I feel lonely sometimes because my family all live on the east coast and I'm out here on the west coast by myself. But I'm never alone. I have an extended family through work, it must be the same for you. If that really isn't an option then look at signing up for some night classes, lots of topics to chose from and a great way to meet people with similar interests. You don't remind me of someone who is afraid to go to the plate, just do it.

Yes, quite a bit. I ride my horse alone, and it's the best therapy in the world. I can meditate when riding. I feel free and then I can go back in the real world again. I have to put on my armour though cause sometimes It's tough.
Oh fishing is great therapy to me also. I love it. It is so soothing.

I go to the gym, it helps beat the blues, and somehow even feel better when I look in the mirror.

Sometimes spending time with friends, reading a book, or enjoying a good DVD to help me forget.

Yes... and I'll either read a good novel or write a short story or something. Or I'll dance in my room to some very happy pop song. Or I'll wear a bunch of make up on my face.... or use my vibrator.
