Depends where you're going. To L.A., I-70 west to I-15. That will take you through Las Vegas into Los Angeles. Once there, I-5 could pretty much get you anywhere up and down the coast.

But the best way is to fly out of DIA. But don't fly into LAX. That's the worst, rudest airport i've ever been through.

Where in California?

Easiest way is to drive to Denver International Airport, then take a plane.

If you want to drive to California, drive down to Denver and get on Interstate 70 West. Stay on I-70 West until it ends at Interstate 15 in Utah.

If you are heading to the Bay Area... When you get to I-15, go North on I-15 to Salt Lake City. Then take Interstate 80 West. This will take you into California near Lake Tahoe. It passes through Sacramento and eventually gets you to Oakland and San Francisco.

If you are heading to LA or San Diego... When you get to I-15, go South on I-15. This will eventually take you to Southern California. If you are heading for LA, get off I-15 at I-10 West near Ontario. If you are heading for Orange County, get off I-15 at Highway 91 near Corona. If you are heading for San Diego, just stay on I-15.
