I surround myself with family and friends. Start working harder, and I read a lot.

Sometimes though, the only thing I can do is cry.

Depression will also include having a low self worth and other demeaning thoughts about one's self. So it's Okay to say your not suffering from depression. Although if you don't do something to bring your self up from your state then it will lead to depression and other harmful disorders. I know this because I was in a similar situation as the one you are in, I had a few different key points though. Perhaps the unfortunate change happened, and the negative change affected your state of mind temporarily. Then soon other aspects that brought some joy in your life toppled with the first change. Soon creating a domino affect just as you described in your description as it has impacted many parts of your life. Maybe the best way to combat this is to find the root of the problem and attempt to do something which is the opposite or will have an opposite affect. The feeling of helplessness might also contribute to your problem. If you have had the thought that things can't change or if you don't attempt to change positively then things will most likely stay the same with out any kind of change. I don't think it's the best idea to seek help from your friends, since you mentioned that they don't really support you in a productive way. Probably a good thing to do is to have some forceful thoughts and a motivation for clearer mind and accepting self.

I think it's healthy to have a little cry now and then, as long as it doesn't become to commonplace in your life. But to pick myself up, I go out. Not to a club, but to a bookstore or a cd shop and pick up a few things. I try to surround myself with interesting books/music. Either I see myself in a character or a song and realize if I'm lucky enough to enjoy these things in life and *get something* out of them I have a reason to smile.

I distract myself. I usually pick up a book, or watch a movie that I love. I start a new drawing, or sing along to my favorite music. Sometimes, I talk to God, and Henry, my teddy bear. I don't usually call friends, I try to deal with it myself. Use comedy to lift your spirits. It helps. And, if you stay busy, you won't get as lonley or sad.

Depends how often you feel that way..
It might be depression, and for that I would see the doctor..
If its only occasional.. there are many things you can do..
Excercise
Do crafts
Read
Go out somewhere, anywhere
Call up some friends
Go out and watch a great movie or rent one
Go visit family or invite them over
Play on the computer...
Hope this gives you some ideas..

Sadness...I tend to block most things out now. Loneliness...I prefer my solitude and I always have company with my friends.

I act as if I was sick, spend time lying in bed, eating and watching TV. Or if I can't do that I try to resort to the good memories of the past ad the ones that are possibly yet to come.

I try to do something fun to get my mind off of the thing that got me sad...music or a movie helps when youre alone. But when you've got a friend...even better.

I work alot of hours, get plenty of exercise and a few hobbies that I love to do ... it really works! I use to be really heart broken when I was younger from a couple of bad relationships, but staying occupied/very busy helped me pull through!

find a song that suits me. like slow beat-something that connects. Also, talking on IM.Umm, chocolate and icecream are okayy. The best is getting Godiva chocolate and eating it all yourself.SERIOUSLY. it's good. maybe a bath-hot=] Umm, work out? some people do that but I just dwell and listen to easy music. slowbeats are for me.
