It is ridiculous but I love the fact that she continues to show her true self every step of the way. She just can't help it. Nancy Pelosi is truly out of touch with reality.

I love the way you single out Nancy Pelosi as the only person in Washington who wants this.
Here's how the deal will go down. Nancy Pelosi will force the issue. The department of the treasury and the GAO will pretend to fight it. They will go to their speeches and say what a horrible person Nancy Pelosi is. The press secretary will most likely say something snarky and it will be plastered all over right-wing blogs and magazines before you can say "electoral politcs". But in the end, it will pass, most likely by a larger majority than you would think.
Nancy Pelosi will then go back to San Francisco, give a rousing speech on some social justice issue. The republicans will allow her to tack on some pork fat for her district in the next spending bill without saying a word about it to anyone.
And then all of them will travel by private jet for a weekend in Kennebunkport at the Bush's place or in Mass at the Kennedy compound toasting each other's brilliance with Dom Perignon.
And that, my friends, is the truth about how Washington works. If you think GWB or Nancy Pelosi or Dick Cheney or Harry Reid give a crap about what you think, you are sadly mistaken.

Amazing - the cons complain about letting kids ride with their parents - yet give a pass to congressional cronyism and outright criminal behaviour in the form of earmarks in the GOP controlled legislature of 2006 to the tune of 74 billion dollars.

I don't really get that involved in the political scene, but it doesn't sound quite right that lawmakers should get special privileges for themselves or their families.
