I wouldn't get too cocky about facing the Phillies. They're a solid team, although their record doesn't indicate it due to a poor start. Leiber, Moyer, and Eaton are capable of shutting down offenses and the lineup can flat out mash.

That said, the Tigers are no slouches either. I look forward to this series.

Well, there's no question that the pitching matchups favor the Tigers. Bonderman-Lieber on Friday and Verlander-Eaton on Sunday should bode well for the Tigers, who have a potent offense to go along with that excellent staff.

I'm curious to see how Andrew Miller does against that Phils lineup. He looked good in his first start, but bad in his second outing. He's up against Moyer, who has been about average this season, and who will be facing a lineup with plenty of righthanded bats.

I'd say the Tigers should take two out of three, although anything can of course happen. On paper, this is a good matchup for them, especially since they won't have to face Cole Hamels.

I don't know about the Phillies GP. They have been playing damn good ball lately. Their wishing the Yanks beat up on the Muts and they could be the new first place team. I have a 20 dollar bet that the Yanks will have a better record than the Philles by the break so GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

They are probably the streakiest team in baseball. They have a nice offense. But the pitching is the problem. They do play well at home, so it should be a pretty good series.

Considering the SUPERB pitching they're going against...I think we just may leave them shaking their heads. hehe! ;) Not to mention I believe they have a few Pitchers on DL too...that certainly helps! :)

GO TIGERS!
