1. Labels suck. You say something bad against Bush - you're a liberal. You say something pro-Bush, you're a conservative. What happened to being an intelligent, average American and seeing things for that they really are - no party-bias?

2. If Bush could run for a third term, there would still be die-hards that vote for him.

3. Americans have gotten lazy. We sit back on our couches in our living rooms criticizing every move Bush makes, but yet we were too lazy to vote to make sure he wasn't re-elected. According to the last election statistics, only 25% of Americans vote.

4. After the first election, the world blamed Bush for the disasters "America" caused in Iraq and elsewhere. After the second election, who do we have to blame but ourselves?

5. We've thumbed our noses at countries like France and Germany and made them look like world powers because THEY WERE RIGHT about Iraq and stood up to Bush.

6. How can we regain our elite status in the world?

The "Elitist Mindset" is how America ended up where it is today.

Dog what are you on? Sure the President, George W. Bush has made a few bad calls but to say we're not elite would be saying Microsoft is no longer a gigantic computer software corporation.

High school and college kids hate the current trend because its always trendy to go against the system. Why else do we have such a conservative backlash after the hippy era? Because the younger generation was influenced by their parents to be more conserverative.

Example: A- Middle aged folks with family and kids.
B: Hippies
C: Kids of middle aged folks.

Pattern goes B - A influence C - C becomes B - B becomes A - A influence C - C becomes B and so on.

I'm too tired to go on. Just look at my fuzzy math and take some time and think it over.

Oh yeah your question:
2. Ha no way in hell he's gonna get a 3rd term. He's losing support from his own party. No bendie rulies for you Mister President.

3, Have you seen teenagers today? They're jogging and working out. People care more about their health today then they ever did. I think the fat trend will be a thing of the past. (There will always be lazy fat people.)

4. We were wrong with the reasons to why we went to iraq. But we need to stay or their take the fight to us. And when it happens, what? We go back there and finish the job? Or we're just gonna lie down and show throat? Not in my America buddy.

5. Freedom fries baby freeedom friees!

6. Still 337, just need to wait until the current President to step down and rebuild all the foreign relation and good will that President Clinton built up when he was in office.

I love people like you. You want people to "see things for what they really are" just as long as whatever they see agrees with your naive little worldview.

People voted for Bush the first time.. because he was better than the alternatives.

People voted for Bush the second time.. because he was better than the alternatives.

If by whatever strange twist of fate he somehow was allowed to run again.. he very well may be better than the alternatives. And so yes, people would vote for him again.

And yes France was right... no Saddam means their blood money oil deals are gone forever. Which is all they really cared about.

And finally, the "status" of the US is just fine. Maybe we don't have the pushover "please attack me" reputation that people like you want.. but we certainly haven't lost the "elite status"

First of all, I don't think for one moment our forefathers had plans to make this country "elite". They simply wanted to make this country "independent".

Things like "no tax without representation", "we have the right to bare arms", and "this country has a right to an educated populous to vote for its officials."

Finally, the one thing that really makes America special is that we aren't suppose to interfere with foreign affairs, unless it threatens "our" national security.

Honestly, there is nothing easy about protecting these ideals. Yet, people like you can study the Constitution, The Bill of Rights and The Declaration of Independence. When you study these items, thoroughly, make sure that all levels of our government up holds them.

We have the Judicial system, the Presidential system, the Senate and Congress. Look to all four of them to up hold your rights as a U.S. citizen.

Never ever give up hope on this good country and what it stands for.

Good Luck and Take Care

You've assessed the problems pretty well yourself. I agree that every citizen should vote; otherwise he or she has no business complaining. I don't like the two-party system. I think it is flawed and antiquated. We need good strong leadership, whether it is liberal or conservative. That's one way we can regain the respect of other nations and resume our elite status, as you put it. But do you think that will happen any time soon? I wonder!

why ask a question when you have all the answers? we can regain our elite status by getting rid of all the PC crap and being the strong leader, take no crap from anyone type of country that we should be. Germany and France could not hold our jock strap, they are whiners. They get payoffs through the UN to be idiots. they have no bearing on the US situation, they are insignificant.

Where did you get the idea that we were ever elite? We have been the most hated and feared country in the world as far back as the 1st World War, because we stand our ground and fight for what we believe in. If you do not agree with me, why except for Japan, has no other country or countries ever attacked us? The only reason any country has anything to do with us is because they want something from us.

Didn't vote for him either time, but we do need to bring some rationality back to the WH and reverse some of crazy things he did like invading Iraq, opening Gitmo, trashing the constitution, and then trying to justify the actions at all costs.

Vote Democrat for a start.

My opinion is that we form death squads who will storm the ghettos, housing projects, trailer parks, and the bible belt and wipe them clean. Then we'll have nothing left but the people who are the only ones who should be allowed to vote in the first place. Those who's receipt of a welfare check or free pass across the border, or affiliation with Jesus won't be an issue in their vote.
