It all started when this doctor asked me my blood type. Well, I wasnt exactly sure so I told her what I thought it was, and then i said, but Im not sure. She was like you are wrong, and I don't feel like asking you anymore questions about you past pregnancy. You have a bad memory. Then It all went down hill from there. Sh has been rude, and extremely mean ever since that incident. I mean we got into an argument about shoes. Then today, I saw my bill for the "regular (so she said)" blood work she had ordered. I know the typical testing... AIDS, Herps... serious things lik that, but unknowingly I was tested for COCAINE! Without my consent she had a spcific test don just for cocaine, and that was the only drug on there. I have one son already so I know what blood tests are needed to be done. She had me tested for drugs all because I couldn't remmber my blood type! Can she do this????? I want to file a complaint. How do I go about doing this.

FOR ONE: I WAS LOOKING FOR A COMPLAINT NOT A DAMN LAWSUIT.

FOR TWO: I AM NOT ON COKE. MY ISSUE HERE IS TH FACT THAT I GAVE CONSNT TO THE TYPICAL PREGNANCY TESTS, NOT ONE SPCIFIC TEST THAT IS BASD ON COCAINE.
FOR THREE: I COULD CARE LESS IF I WIN OR LOSE. IT'S JUST A QUESTION. God.

Each state has its own filing process, and because your doctor is licensed by the state you live in you'll have to abide by the laws for your specific state. Here's a guide: http://www.mamashealth.com/patient/drcomplaint.asp

Some doctors test for drug use.. I myself was tested in early pregnancy, and got upset and wanted to know why.. I know that I am drug free. i asked the doctor and she said that they test for drugs sometime during pregnancy just to assure there is no useage.. As for filing a complaint I couldnt tell you how to go about doing that, but I can tell you that the easy solution to fix the problem is find a new OBGyn. Some doctors are just like that and will only get worse if they feel conflict with you or any other patient..

if you saw this doctor in a hospital then you should contact the Patient Liason office of the hospital. If you saw her at a clinic then you can file a complaint with the state's medical board. You'll have to check to see if it's against the law or not for her to test you for drugs without your permission because as your doctor she may have the right to. Drugs tests are usually done with urine.

First let me say I am very very sorry for your loss, a miscarriage is devastating. But to answer your question a lawsuit really isn't a viable option, as you said she didn't cause a physical injury-if she had missed a condition that was treatable it would be different, and to get damages for emotional pain most states require outrageous behavior versus incompetence. The law is set up to bar damages for emotional pain and suffering, though its just as hurtful as phsyical pain. Regardless, a medical suit requires testimony from at least one other doctor, and most are reluctant to do so. As awful as your experience is, I think litigation would prolong your pain and suffering, but definitely complain about the situation. Again I am so sorry and wish you the best. Take the time you need to grieve.

I don't believe there is a law against a doctor testing you for drugs as long as you have given them consent to do blood work..as far as the rude doctor, I would report her to the hospital's customer service and they will direct you to who you need to speak with concerning further action, in the meantime, look for a doctor who will care about you and have the best interest of your health at heart. Good luck.

they are so selfobsessed...they think they know everything...
I go in for a frikin pregnancy blood test and they do all these test on me and no pregnancy test?!!! What? I spent over $350 on these tests and she wouldn't do a pregnancy test when I told her all my symptoms and that I needed it..
I call them after the results and they are like: oh well, we did a urine test and that was negative...duh,,,every single person I know had negative on hpt and positive on blood test... Is she waiting for me to give birth so she can believe that I am actually pregnant?!!! Morans ...

First - find a new doctor. I'd go to your state's attorney general website. It can direct you to where you need to go. Also, most states have a licensure board for medicine that you may be able to make complaints to.

I don't know my blood type
I'd be pretty offended if a doctor had attitude with me because I didn't know!

if you weren't USING cocaine, what are you WORRIED about---and if you ARE, you have PLENTY to worry about....... you gave her permission to test your blood... she is under NO obligation to inform you what specifics she is testing for until AFTER the tests... if you are so paranoid about it I suggest you stop using coke then. oh and as far as a lawsuit---you would be spending your good COKE MONEY on a stupid lawsuit that you would have NO CHANCE OF Winning!!!! Sorry you lose.
