I only buy my clothes at Banana republic and Gap I don't like any other store because I think that the clothes look "trashy" or too flashy and stuff. I like classy clothes with nice colors that will never go out of style! Im 20 and Im in college and I like the way I dress. I dont go to class in invisible shorts and miniskirts and i dont like too revealing shirts. My boyfriend was telling me that he wants me to wear glamurous clothes with bright colors! and he wants me to wear big bracelets and colorful purses...all that stuff that sell at good charlotte, rue21 and papaya... I dont like those clothes...does he want me to dress like a s-luty teenager or what?? oh he also critizes me when i wear my blach high heels with black pants and a beautiful shirt...what is wrong with him???? or is just me???

Nothing wrong, my friend !!!!! I think he wants to dress you as he wants. Every boyfriend/girlfriend has a dream to see his/her mate with the dresses he/she likes. Your case is not out of them. He wants to decorate you according to his dream.
Of course, you must have your own choice but you should put some importance on his sentiment also. Have you ever thought why does he do so? You will automatically get the answer.
My advise is to wear both kind of dresses you like. When you will be with him on a trip or a party, wear those types of dresses he likes and when you are on a tour with your family or your other friends, enjoy your own choice.
Here, I don't find any wrong. Of course, in choosing dresses your and his choices are different. So what?
Enjoy his company while shopping and try to commensurate
yourself a little bit to his choices. You also try to buy some dresses for him according to your choice.
Have a happy life.

Maybe he just wants you to dress up a little more glamourous... think of it this way he thinks you're as prty as any celebrity so u should dress just as glamourrous as they do. You dont have to be slutty to be glamourous. Adding more bright colors and fun purses and jewelery doesnt have to be slutty. You dont have to wear super short stuff. Jeans + a really bright colored cute top and some colorful jewelery will work. Try to mix it up without getting too far from your comfort zone... who knows you might end up liking your new style

GOOD LUCK

shopping at the same store all the time can make your wardrobe a little boring. You don't have to wear big bracelets! They are the trend but I'm with you, they are not my style either. I like to look classy too, but I miss classy with a touch of sexy and still look like a lady. You just have to find a happy medium.

There is nothing wrong with your style! It sounds as though you are comfortable with the way you dress and that is what is important. You dress in such a way as to show respect to yourself and that is such a wonderful quality. Not to mention the fact that in ten years you won't look back at your pictures and think "I can't believe I let him talk me into wearing that!!!"

Don't worry--dress for yourself and nobody else :)

tell him to shut up. you should dress whatever way you want and not let him criticize you like that. believe me its not you its him. if he doesn't appreciate your style, the way you are, you gotta say goodbye girl! and your clothes sound sophisticated, not at all ugly! your bf has problems.

well good luck, hope everything works out.

Yeah, it sounds like he wants you to dress like a teenaged tramp. For what it's worth, the way you want to dress is much, much better than what he wants.

Even if your style were "bad" (and who's to say what's bad or not, although I do agree with you with those girls who booty shorts and crop tops--ugh) it's out of line for him to say what you should and shouldn't wear--even if it's just a critique and not a full-on demand.

Imagine if you suggested he change his style to please you--wouldn't be cool, either.

Tell him to deal with it or take a hike.
