ok the point of the question isn't that he's TOO BROKE to BUY a ring, it's HYPOTHETICAL people. like...if they didn't exist or something. sheesh. IMAGINATION.

I've never had an engagement ring, been married almost 33 years and instead of a diamond, I'd much rather have a mother's ring since I have 5 sons. Don't really have an interest in diamonds.

it would be groovy if it was like that disney movie Mulan 2, where one person gets ying, and the other person gets yang. or maybe it could be like friendship necklaces/bracelets, but instead of "Best" and "Friends", it would be "Lovers" "Forevor". that actually sounds really romantic, dont you think? peace on earth, star for you.

Get a HUGE tattoo that says, "I LOVE _____, BUT HE IS TOO CHEAP TO BUY ME A RING AND MADE ME GET THIS FREAKIN' TATTOO."

Otherwise, get a simple band. You show others of your love by wearing this ring. Nothing else will do that. It does not have to be fancy (or real for that matter). Trust me - no one will ever know if it is real or a fake diamond.
