Best bulb for growing plants is a grow light. Can be found at your neighborhood hardware store or high-end plant shop. Regular fluorescent bulbs do not have the full spectrum of light that a plant requires.

I'm no scientist, but I heard plants need light to grow. Race should play no part in your decision.

it won't work it's not bright enough no where near the same wattage
