You will never find a refurbished iBook G3 because it is 5 or 6 years old depending on the exact version. That price is fair but I wouldn't drop my breakfast tray and run across the street to buy it. If you shop carefully, you can find an iBook G4 Late 2004 for $400 or less and that has these advantages compared with the iBook G3:

* Faster processor
* Faster system bus
* Uses better style of memory chip (PC2100 compared with PC100)
* Can use an adapter for composit video output to connect to a TV

To verify it is a Late 2004 version, it should have either a 1.2 or 1.33 GHz processor. Anything less will not have the same capability for adapting to composit video out.

But you should also think about software. Does the G3 have lots of cool software installed that is working correctly? I bought an iBook G4 Late 2004 version that had Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, iMovie HD and lots of other goodies for $365. I hope you can find such a deal. Try craigslist.org if you live in a big city. If you get original iBook install disks or retail 10.4 install disks, so much the better. You can't fix some problems without install disks.

if it was refurbished by macintosh, it should do fine for the things you want. If it was not refurbished by macintosh, don't touch it.
