I ,male, have read all answers given thus far. Your answers are based on gender issue stereotypes. And the usual predigis(sp) hype of women may (and do) wear men's clothing and say they do no wrong, yet deny to males the wearing of any "femine" attire. Female, in pants, shirt, manly boots, and she's fine. Society is dysfunctional, we all have within us aspects of both genders and there is no sane reason either gender should be forced into expressing any one exclussively. WWII, to safely work in the factories producing the weapons of war, women donned the clothing of men. Flowing petticoats and skirts were not wisely worn in an enviroment of heavy industrial machinery. After the war, women refused to return to wearing women's clothing; all the while, all too many women will not afford to males the same right to wear clothing pertaining to women. Is that fair? NO. And I am not 'gay', I very much adore women. The Pope wears a dress, and working outside in the hot sun, I prefer the cool breese blowing more freely about me as I'm wearing a dress, as opposed to the hot, sticky,sweaty, claustrophobic shirt and pants. So, deal with it. Be more kind and understanding. And it is a safe bet that you females dissing that male are all cross-dressers. If you wear pants, you are wearing clothing pertaing to a man, look it up in a dictionary.
Transvestite. A hateful word. And any woman not in skirts or a dress is just that. And she believes she does no wrong.

Over the course of evolution, the female visual system has developed an instinctual preference for round or banana shaped objects (e.g. circles, ovals, pufferfish, bananas).

A female untainted by society would indeed revel in the sight of a bikini brief (it looks like a banana).

But societal influences pressure females to repress their primal urges, replacing them with a kind of sick loathing or disgust. Just as a person raised in the city recoils in horror at the thought of eating perfectly nutritious trash, a female raised among her own kind may express dissatisfaction at the sight of otherwise sexy bikini underwear.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This particular beholder thinks that bikini bottoms on a dude are just wrong! It's nasty and not cool! I was in Brazil and a LOT of the men wear the itsy bitsy Speedo bikini bottoms. I couldn't even bring myself to look at them without laughing to myself!
So, in my opinion - it's a no go! Stick to the trunks!!

From all the women's negative answers on here, I think it is safe to say most american women generally hate the male body and only tolerate it when they get to decide what it is dressed in and what it looks like.

Sounds like objectification of the male body. Isn't this what feminists decried about men doing this to women?

Oh man, no. I had a friend once tell me seeing her boyfriend wear her thongs was really hot, so out of morbid curiosity, i asked mine to do the same, it was hilarious, but disgusting as well.
