I have used straight dawn dishwashing liquid on spots... even those that have been 'set' by washing/drying already... and it takes them out completely. just squirt a little on the spot and rub it in with the spout of the dawn bottle... let sit for1/2 hour-1 hour or more.... and then wash in HOT water... and the stain will be gone... (we have mostly cotton clothes, so hot is ok... if your is not able to stand HOT water, use the warmest temp you can) wash and dry as normal and it should be ok!

I keep dawn in the laundry room all the time... between hubby's oil stains and kids pizza stains, it is needed!

Removing salad dressing or olive oil:

1) Place stain face-down on plain white paper towel. Replace paper towels as needed.
2) Squeeze small amount of dishwashing liquid on underside of stain to break up grease.
3) Wait at least 1 minute for detergent to break up grease.
4) Pretreat stain again with detergent.
5) Launder garment in warmest water safe for fabric.

Hope this helps.

I would either use vinegar or dawn dish soap. I've used both to get out oil stains in clothes and they have both worked as a soak.

The safest way for to remove oil from clothing is to use your hair shampoo. Just put the shampoo on the spot, add some water, rub well with you fingers, then let it sit a few minutes. Rinse well, then launder as usual. Oil will be gone!

Pour white vinegar on it and let it soak overnight. Then wash it like normal. Works like a charm!
