I don't think there is any doubt about this answer right now. Reggie White dominated the NFL while he played the game. There are many great ends playing now that might be there in the end , but as of right now Reggie is the guy. Bruce Smith was damn good too.

As for your other positions heres my picks:

Qb I would still take Montana over the rest.Proven winner!

RB You could argue this all day long and never be right.depends if you are arguing stats. TD's, yards, all around ability or what. By all those you have to pick Emmit Smith. Just think what Barry Sanders would have done behind that huge offensive line of Dallas. Jim Brown was the stud of his era. I'm going to pick a guy that had it all even class. Walter Payton!!!

WR Jerry Rice enough said!!!!!

White was (in the second have of his career) all about the pass rush. Him and Kevin Greene. Over all the best was Bruce Smith, who holds the record for career sacks. Strahan is good, but went to 7 pro bowls and 1 Def Player of the year, isn't in the same level of Smith 12 pro bowls, 5 differ years was name Def MVP (8 times) , White 13, 6 Def player of the year. I could not compare tackels in career.

I didn't forget about Deacon Jones, he after all did event the sack, but his "helmet slap" which is what made him is, has been outlawed since he left the game.

Reggie White. He not only had the record for sacks, but he was awesome at stopping the run. He made that guys around him better and was a true team leader. Absolutely the best.

One does come to mind - Michael Strahan, he has the stats and has been a dominant force 10+ years.
The best ive seen though (Ive only started watching 15 years ago - from Aus) is Dwight Freeney ive never seen speed and power combined like that before. People always said 'too small etc etc' but he is a MACHINE

without a doubt.....the man who invented the sack,Mr deacon Jones.all other De's bow down to him.the only reason you don't see his name under the sack leaders is that they didn't start recording sacks until well in his career.he would be #1 by far.i think he was the meanest son of ***** who ever played the game!
