3.5 games behind Detroit for the Wild Card, so I figure they can get that.
7.5 games behind Boston, seems like a lot but it was 14.5 and last place at one point not to long ago. And they still have six games to play against them. So not out of the East by a long shot
And their pitching is very solid. Wang, Mussina, Pettite, Clemens pitching 4 out of every 5 days is why they have won 9 games in a row and the offense has been delivering as well, not just A Rod like in April.

It's too tough to tell. Even with the 9 game winning streak the Yankees still need to dig themselves out of huge hole. If the Yankees stay away from the injury bug, I think they'll be fine. Even without Giambi. But if they have another month like April then they'll be in trouble.
I do have commend Joe Torre for doing an excellent job of getting the Yankees back on track.

Yes, They took 7 games off the Red Sox lead in 17 days. Anything can happen now. Nobody really knows but if you just look at the teams I think the Yanks, Tigers, Redsox, Angels get in.

if they dont egt their buts in gear they are going to have too much ground to make up in the division and bostons been pretty good. i think their only hope is the wild card but their pitching is still as bad as last year and clemons can throw once every five days. plus they have a lot of competition for wild card. detroit and cleveland are good and minnesota always seems to find a weay to stick their nose into the playoff picture so it will b tough for the yanks to get there this year. i think they dug to big a hole

No.
The wild card will come the Central Division again this year.
They'd have to win the division to make the playoffs, and that is not going to happen.
