OK, I have a "data stick" to use as a backup, so what I want is to get all the files very efficiently arranged, eliminate duplicates (because the same stuff is in two or more directories), and then copy the whole shebang over to the 1 gigabyte data stick.

Suggestions? Is there an automatic way to eliminate duplicates and save the one that's in the right file folder only?

You should've actually bought an external hard drive that came with the automatic backup software, because it lets you configure when, where, and how you want your data backed up automatically!
