What did you think would happen? If you hadn't gotten it, he'd be spending all that time still asking you to buy him one.
Find something to do while he is playing, enjoy the opportunity.
Or you could start a rental program for the use of the TV!
Good Luck!

Tell him that he can only play during certain times of the day like in the afternoons or something. That way you can still watch your TV shows at night and he'll be happy since he got to play Wii. Or you could get him a smaller TV for him to play on so that you can enjoy your shows while he plays Wii.

You are the adult. If you want to watch tv then tell your son to get off of the Wii so you can watch your shows. Don't let him take advantage of the fact that it is a brand new system. If he doesn't listen to you then threaten to take it away. If he still doesn't listen then follow through with the threat and take it away for a week or so.

i love the wii!!!! things so awsome.... to be honest that would prolly be the best game system for a kid to play all day ( not saying its a substitute for outside play but hey it gets them really moving) if you ever want to get hm off of it the controllers are ran on batteries so when he takes a pee break steal those.... or you can be the PARENT and tell him what he needs to do !! good luck ♥

I am still waiting for my parents to get me mind. It's not that bad of a thing. He is getting some exercise with this. Sorry about your television though. Maybe you should try setting time boundaries for him or give him his own tv.

maybe you should set rules and times that he can play...like after he does his chores and homework, he can play, and he can play around your tv schedule. dont give him TOO much freedom...it might be a little too spoiling, but for sure let him go around YOUR schedule. try not to result to buying a new tv cuz then he'll be forever addicted to wii and will never focus on anything but the game

Simply tell him he can only play when you're not watching. Or, if you have some extra money laying around, buy him/you another T.V. Also, if you have digital cable with DVR service, you could use that.

I really think its CRAZY having only one Tv LOL! You should have got him his own TV too. Whats the point of freedom if you dont have a TV to sit back and injoy your shows with!

My 15 year old just came for the summer. He brought his Wii. I love it. He has a game with boxing, golf, baseball, and bowling on it. I got quite a workout tonight with him. Good exercise for a couch potato like me. You know the saying...if you can't beat em...join em. :)
