Verizon Wireless offers a backup assistant tool online to transfer your contact phone numbers and information to their secured website and vice versa when you change phones. Changes to your contact address book is sent to your phone wirelessly. The fee is $1.99 monthly fee and also to download this application onto your phone . However if you sign up for online account management (verizon wireless) then they will waive this fee. Verizon Wireless does not use any sim cards on their phones because they use CDMA technology. The only cell phone companies that uses sim cards are Cingular, T-Mobile and Nextel.

Sim cards are not available upon Verizon's CDMA network. So, you can stop looking for where it could be upon your device.

Secondly, the previous person did mention Backup Assistant. But, you must have downloaded the application from Get It Now (GIN) before the handset got wet. Since it is not working, then you won't be able to go to GIN and download that app.

Third, the VZW store may with a big question mark be able to do the address book (contacts) transfer for a cost of $10. This option is the one of last resort.
