Brits hosting and/or judging reality shows here in the States?

Please don't take offense to this question. It just seems like Brits are on all of our reality shows.

Great question and my answer will probably offend the Brits but here it goes...
There is a perception here in the US that a person with a British accent is intelligent. This of course is not necessarily true, but I swear by this. In fact, I'd bet any one that if a person with a mediocre employment history and equally mediocre education (American) were to go to a job interview and fake a British accent he would get the job over some one with a better education and employment history. Brits are put on reality shows as judges because we Americans are silly enough to think that just because they speak with an accent, they know what they're talking about!

Because we steal most of the ideas for game shows etc. from those in the UK - and Simon came over here and started all of the reality music/dance shows - he employs people who he used to work with in the UK (saw his True Hollywood Story on E!)

They are just using the "Simon Cowell" model of success from American Idol. If you notice it's them that seem critical..it's like "good cop bad cop". Everything sounds harsh from a Brit!

It is probably born out of the companies who either own it or have some ownership overseas and demand such things to be happening. Next season Hasslehoff will probably be off and another Brit will seize the whole show for goodness sakes.
