OH BOY !'ve been waiting for you !
The reason Hinkely was allowed to get close enough to be able to shoot at Reagan was a very clever and sinister plot !
If Ronnie died,...Bush would've been President, and easily been re-elected. If Ronnie lives....Bush is easily re-elected after Ronnies' term is up.
Why was there no real investigation?
Watch the new video on youtube showing the attempted assassination on Ronnie...it clearly shows that Hinkely was next to the door where the Pres. came out of. He was allowed to stand there for almost an hour without being questioned or searched. Hinkelys' father worked for the CIA in the mind control project called 'MK-ULTRA'. Ronnie never had a clue, even afterwards. Remember ...the committee to elect Reagan had given WMDs' to the radicals holding Americans hostage,to have them held even longer to make the dumbsh!t sheeple think it was Carters' fault ! It was clearly ELECTION FRAUD !... as well as the unnecessary continued imprisonment of the poor hostages ! Would you be shocked to find out that the 'failed rescue mission' to get the hostages was led by a yet unknown,Lt. Col. Oliver North! That was a nasty 'black-bag operation' !

The young man Hinkley was infatuated with Jodie Foster and her portrayal in Taxi Driver the movie.
He was emotionally disabled already. He had some thoughts of getting her attention and favor. He gunned down Brady worse, Reagan the bullet just grazed him. The Secret Service were on it so fast.

PS Nicko , your first answer you will need to sift thru the garbage but I get alot of insight here. Wikipedia is outdated and just a start and the rest u read newspapers from the dates u get and if you really want to know research it. :))))

John Hinckley Jr was obsessed with Jodie Foster and had seen the movie "Taxi Driver" a few too many times. He was sure that if he killed a president he would be important enough that Jodie Foster would love him. Reagan happened to president at the time.

The guy that shot him was found to be insane. That is the reason. He wanted the fame of being the guy that killed the second most popular president ever.
