I am 26 and I am so glad life is finally looking like it will slow down a bit... finished with school, started my career, married, bought a house, and have a newborn. This all happened pretty rapid fire within the last 3 years... I am looking forward to things slowing down a bit... Seems like most of the milestones are accomplished... I guess time will tell... now all I have left to do is get my masters and maybe have one more child down the road... I guess things never really slow down...lol

I'm soon 26 and actually feel the opposite.
I have a clearer image of a person I want to become, but I've also come to realise that I am insatiably curious, like to travel, explore, and educate myself a lot, and I actually wish to never feel satisfied by myself or reach the goal/plateau.
Though, your feeling of 'almost there' has to be the result of your efforts and I think that's great. Keep up & good luck!

I used to feel that way. Then I realized that we'll never "be where we want to be" in this self-centered, materialistic, consumer society of ours. And while we work towards "getting there" we too often forget to enjoy our current "location". I've tried to stop worrying about "getting to where I want to be" and instead tried to realize that I'm always going to "already be there". Slow down, enjoy life, take the time to appreciate where you are instead of worrying about where you're going! :) Life is a journey; enjoy the trip, don't fret the destination. One day at a time...

Just a few years ago I thought I was where I wanted to be and everything was great. Then life dealt me a very cruel blow and my partner passed away (2.5yrs ago) and I am still reeling from it. I have no purpose in life and I don't know where I wanna be anymore
:-)))

I'm 59 and have several illnesses, so I am waiting to see how the story ends and when.......enjoy your young years to the fullest. Don't worry about the small stuff cause it is all small stuff. Be true to yourself ... be kind to yourself...and the road ahead will be lined in honey.....!!!

yeah. i don't have a huge lifetime goal or anything, but in (hopefully only) 1 year i'll be out of this state; i don't know where i'll be, precisely, but as long as i'm not here, my first major independent goal will be fulfilled. i'm glad that you're making progress and you're happy in your life; not a lot of people can say that for themselves. :)

If you get exactly where you want to be I would think you were doing something wrong. As soon as you get the things you want, you will want something else. i.e. get married, want kids; get a good job, want more moeny; like your house, want a pool like the neighbors, etc.
It would get pretty boring if we were exactly where we wanted to be at 30.
