Nothing Left To Gain could make one´s desire to cease trying, learning, growing, loving and living...it doesnt have to have this effect on your mind and spirit, but it very well could....because you feel like you´ve lost your reasons and you feel like an unfillable emptyness...and so that could lead you into simply not caring anymore about anything.

Having Nothing Left To Lose is actually a pretty liberating feeling, because you stop letting your inhibitions stop you from doing things you normally wouldnt...it makes you want take the chances you´ve been wanting to your whole life....and so if anything, it helps you try, learn, grow, love and live life to the fullest of your ability.

I think having nothing left to gain would make a person, as you put it, "desire to cease
TRYING, LEARNING, GROWING, LOVING.... LIVING" more than having nothing left to lose would. If you have nothing left to gain, you would have nothing left to learn because I'd assume you would have acquired all the knowledge humanly possible (which I find quite impossible). The same goes for pretty much everything else, you would have no motive for trying, growing, loving, or living for the same reasons. I know I personally would be at complete peace with dying when I have nothing left to gain. Now I'm rambling...

If you have nothing left to lose then your life still has purpose as you can still gain things or get back what had. If you have nothing left to GAIN then there is no longer anything to strive for and thus there would be no point in trying, learning, etc. Nothing to gain will cease one's desire despite the fact that nothing to lose is the most publicized concept.

I really can't imagine either would make me desire to ceae any of he above while I'm still breathing, and perhaps afterward. Nothing left to lose is a position of pure potential, the point at which I've begun over and over to try, learn, grow, love, and live. Nothing left to gain means I have ever so much more to spend, realizing the wealth which has come to me and passing it from my hand to others, until I'm once again at a zero balance with ever so many capital investments living and growing around me. And tomorrow I try again, I learn, I grow, I love, I wallow in life like a pig in mud and I'm happy knowing the more I give the more I get. Perhaps it's too simple, but it's my life, His rules.

NOTHING Left to LOSE or NOTHING Left to GAIN?
which one would make one desire to cease
TRYING, LEARNING, GROWING, LOVING.... LIVING?

So your advocating Suicide, as they all make the Centrifugal Elements of Humanity'.

NOTHING Left to LOSE or NOTHING Left to GAIN, an interesting conundrum. It's all a question of relativity, in that.

Merely asking that question means, that your gaining attention-which you didn't have before, and asking "Nothing Left to Lose". Obviously Illustrates, that you haven't lost everything.

I mean, you still have use of at least one finger/arm, eye and have some incom-so that you can pay, for asking this question.

Also the one factor, that incorporates the true essence of Life. That is, Anything Can Get Worse

Sweetie, I don't believe we EVER know absolutely that we have nothing to lose or gain. 'What matters it what went before of after, now with myself I will begin & end." If it were possible for me to believe in an absolute--nothing left to lose, nothing left to gain--I think they'd be the same. NOTHING. Hey, does anyone know what "tomorrow" may bring? I hope I'll never stop trying, learning, growing, loving & living.

Enki Enki oh so Binki hahaha of course the second one if you have nothing left to gain you stop living. Your heart is closed and not full of love anymore. The first statement Nothing left to lose gives you hope you keep trying and evolving as a human being because once your out of your dark period and you get the negative affirmations for what ever reason in your life that put you another person a job, etc..Then you can begin to love yourself and attract the hope and success and love you want in life. In life the hardest learned is to be completely aware and take a step back and if something or someone is giving me nothing to gain in the end such love, friendship, trust and honesty but only negative vibes of trying remove your self from it or them it is as simple as that...Friends can tell you loved ones can tell you but you have to come to the realization of it on your own to gain all that you desire in love, in careers, in family and in friends. I like this stateone someone once told me"Nothing ventured nothing gained" goes with the first part of your question. Keeping marching forward Enki because in the end you have nothing to LOSE but everything to gain my friend :)))

Nothing to lose is the ultimate freedom, nothing left to gain would make most people cease because it implies no more hope of success.

If you feel you have nothing to lose, this is when you try, learn, grow and love the most. You’re willing to risk! There is such freedom in taking risks to learn, grow, in the name of love! You are alive! Nothing can hold you back!

Feeling as though you have nothing to gain, on the other hand is self-defeatist, selfish, or perceptually and intellectually limited. “Why bother?” “It’s not worth it if there’s nothing in it for me”. "I already know everything I need".

Something is always learned, someone grows, we are living, someone tries, love can also be found in every negative and positive experience; we "gain" even in situations where we feel nothing can be, should be, was, or is gained ;-).
