Why should they have to explain their calls after the game? Whenever a player has a question about the call, if they are respectful about it they can get an immediate answer from the referee as to why the call was made. Asking about calls after the game is asinine. The players can't learn how the referee is calling the game and adjust to it. The refs call them like they see them. If the players don't like it, tough. I've played too many years of basketball to worry about what they call; it's more important to know why they called what they call so you can adjust your game to fit the way the refs are calling it that night.

Are you kidding? If the fans knew the refs were gonna be at a press conference after the game, the NBA would run out of refs in 2 weeks. I think they smuggle them out of the arenas in laundry carts these days.

There is no point in discussing calls that have already been done. I mean what can they do, the game is over. You see a lot more BS calls in baseball yet no one talks about it. There is no point in complaining in calls now, David Stern made sure of it when it became a lot easier to get a technical foul for arguing.

Great question! I don't think it would help though, they would just say whatever they could to make themselves look right, I would think. Responsibility would always be deflected.
