I booked a room last minute on Tuesday night online at Hilton.com for Wednesday 6/13 into Thursday 6/14. Well, it said there was an availability when I checked, but when I looked at the confirmation page it said Friday and Saturday 13 and 14th in July. When I called the front desk they said that when there's no availability, it automatically pushes the reservation to the next month. She spoke to the night manager, and they agreed to give me a refund, before they realized there was a 3rd party that I have to contact. I paid in full for a reduced rate, which stated no refunds or changes to the reservation. Well, they made a change without my consent, and I don't know how to get a refund now. The 3rd party is this place called Net Direct, which is the option I chose to pay in full for the cheaper rate. How can I get a refund? My reservation was cancelled, and I tried contacting Chase: Visa (used Debit Card), and they told me the charge was still pending, which means I can't dispute it...

Will I be able to get a refund if I dispute the charge? I know American Express is great at disputing charges and taking care of their customers, but I don't know about Visa. I spent $300 on a room that I'm not going to be using, on a date that I didn't request. So, I'm basically paying for their mistake. What the hell should I do?

The front desk and manager were willing to give me a refund, but couldn't because I had to contact the third party. They have no way of telling who the third party is, and I keep telling them that I went directly to the Hilton website, and didn't use priceline or hotels.com, etc. So, the only thing I can think of is that it's this Net Direct.

Apparently some hotel chains have started farming out their Internet reservations to outside companies, even when you reserve through the hotel chain's website. I ran into this recently at Fairfield Inn - didn't have a real problem, but when I got my receipt at the end of the stay it didn't have any amounts on it, the person at the front desk said since I'd reserved online it was handled by some other company and they didn't even have any info.on what I was supposed to pay, it was just charged to my credit card by the other company.

But just automatically changing your reservation to the next month from what you requested is ridiculous - that makes no sense at all! I'd complain in writing to Hilton Hotel headquarters, copy to the one your reservation was at, and to Net Direct if you can fine them.

Your best bet might just be to wait until the charge has posted, then dispute it with VISA, if Net Direct doesn't do anything after you complain in writing. VISA is good about backing out disputed charges.

Good luck.

It might take some time to sort it, but placing a dispute immediately with Chase is very important.

Email Hilton Directly and explain the situation so that they can get involved. In addition write a letter to the president

Did you mistakely think it was Hilton website or was it like a Hotels.com

Eventually you'll see the $300 back.

Hilton has been really good at responding to any concerns that I may have had

Call Hiltion again and tell them that the charge went threw and you want your money back. Also call the place that you placed the order (net direct). Net Direct may be able to help you more. Also you can call your bank and tell them you want to dispute the charge.

LACK OF COMMUNICATION
go to customer service and tell them of your problem..also try again with your credit card company and protest this as the Credit card company should at least listen to your problem..if they don't listen..then close your account as these are not the people you should be doing business with..if at all possible..go to the Hotel or a Hilton and explain to the manager ...you need to pursue this with all the documentation you can muster...

You can demand to talk to the manager,or you can always sue,but that's kind of a waste of money.Check out the hotel policy's you know rules and regulations, and it should have a thing on there about giving refunds.
