What about Reagan or Teagan?

Deegan is ok, though, you have to LOVE the name you guys pick. You will ultimately have to live with it.

Also, remember he will have to spell it out for everyone for the rest of his life. My name is Luz, and I've always had to give everyone my whole family history when I introduce myself... "oh, that's an interesting name... where does that come from..., how do you spell that... "

Just make sure you LOVE the name.

I have not heard the name Deegan before. I personally do not care for this name. When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I had a difficult time agreeing on a name. We found that compiling a list was helpful. I think that you need to be comfortable with the name and if your not sure, perhaps keep this name on the list but search for others as well. Good luck!

Deegan sounds like Vegan. Maybe as a middle name it could be nice. But the question now..What first name? Do you have any ideas or names that you personally like?

So I knew a Deegan once. He had bright red hair, white eye brows and picked his nose. I wouldn't name my kid that, just because of the negative connotation.
Deacon or Reegan?

It looks silly. How about Deacon? It sounds very similar. I think that Deagan would always be mispronounced "Day-gan" and Degan looks like it should be pronounced with a short e like "egg".

Not a favorite. He may get teased later. Deacon may be a good alternative (remember Deacon Jones). Good luck with your child whatever you name him!

P.S. waterlily750 - my last name is Dugan.....what's so eeeeewwwwww, about that!
