The diameter isn't half of anything. The radius is the measurement from the center of the circle to any point on the circle. The diamter is twice the radius.

radius = 1/2 diameter
diameter = 2 radius

diameter = 36, radius = 18

its the other way around
if the diameter is 36 then the radius is half, or 18.

Diameter is twice the radius, but I'm not sure what else you're asking. What value is 36? the area or the perimeter?
