I've used nothing but laptops as my home PC for years. I live in a hurricane-prone area, so I have all my photos, music and important papers in my PC, and can take it on the run anytime. I got wiped out by Katrina, but my laptop had come with me. That was very helpful!

When I was whole and healthy I used to use my laptop the most. It was a Sony VAIO which could do as much, if not more, than most desktops. However, once I became disabled, the HP desktop became my system of choice.
What you want to do with the computer makes a big difference.
