Check:
- Fuel system (blockage? Bad contaminants/water in tank?)
Pour in a couple bottles of HEET or similar kinds of moisture absorber to take out water condensate that might have collected in the tank over the years. Run the tank down.
Add in "Techron" fuel system cleaner. Run the tank down.
Change out fuel filter - you need to do this periodically anyway.
- Spark plugs (severely fowled? Invest in some $5 Bosch Platinum +4 plugs)
Inexpensive yet important part of the ignition system.
- Air filter (severely clogged?)
A severely clogged air filter can cause fuel mixture to be too rich. Choking the engine. Air filters are inexpensive.

Other than the obvious stuff like fuel filter, clogged injector, etc....I would take a poke around at the engine wiring. If the car just cuts in an instant like no sputtering or puttering, just cuts off, I would look around the engine bay and follow the plain blut wire out of the ecu and see if its grounding out somewhere. I only say this because I had that problem and 3 mechanics later I found one that knew what was wrong, and he said its not common, but he has seen it more than once.

There could be few reasons for this trouble. Is not major problems.it sounds electrical problem.loose contact.
First get your main relay checked ..Coz this relay controls the fuel pump, fuel booster pump, fuel injectors, and the distributor power supply.
Another possibility is the distributor cap, could be loose or sparking and causing the short circuit to cut off power supply suddenly.
If you find all in order, then your fuel filter must be choked.
Even your alarm system in confused state, could trigger this problems.reset your alarm system manually, without remote.
Lastly check all vacuum hoses for leaks.
you will find three hoses joining to a T,this hoses might have leaks and will cause the engine to cut off.
Dont worry,we are here to assist you.

Sounds like a fuel problem. Check the fuel filter, fuel pump pressure. If it will run at least at an idle, add some carb cleaner to a full tank of fuel. If all of this fails to fix the problem, have the carburetor serviced.
