I mean in my opinion wrong with like the jokes involving race but some people read into it as if it were the bible and the truth. Like this guy came to my school and talked about self worth and stuff. He imitated this girl being made fun of cause she was indian and they told her "7-11 on the dot" and no one in my school knew that joke. And now everyone says it. I dont mind the guys saying it cause he was making a point but everyone takes it too an extreme!

Some people think that stereotyping is harmless. They think it is funny, and don't really mean anything by it. What they do not understand is that by using stereotypes they are promoting and perpetuating them, and whereas some people use stereotypes meaning no harm, they essentially encourage prejudice people who like to promote stereotypes to make themselves look good in comparison. These prejudice people, when successful, use stereotypes to damage the credibility of outer groups, causing social tension and discrimination. So the answer to your question is basically this: ignorance and/or prejudice.

Small people with small minds have to put down others to make them self feel big. but all it does is make them even smaller. i been to war and the person you want next to you is the person that can do the job and look out after your butt. and let me tell you you don't care what color the skin is or how they talk as long as you can understand them. when you are in a fox hole for days at a time with 5 other guys let me tell you what you want out of them is the same as they want out of you. some one who will help them get home safe. or if you are hurt some one to count on to get you to a safe place. not leave you butt behind. i knew men like that ones you could not count on and let me tell you it not a race thing or a gender thing or a whats your sex life like thing. it a can i count on you because i tell you you can count on me.. and when i came home form the war all this other crap just kept going on. there were times back in the states i could not wait to get back to Nam you knew who you could count on and who you could not. make life easy. now you have to know the right name to call them if you don't they can shoot you.. CRAZY WORLD... people are people each one you judge's on who they are and what they do.. action speak louder than words.. this you learn fast. men in uniform are big on BS.. and you know by there action what what..

honestly we are all something (white, asian, black, indian, etc) we all have something to be picked on for, as long as we keep it in moderation then i dont see why its such a big deal
