Final Fantasy 3 Ending?

Question

I have several questions about after you beat FF3. First I have to say that that was a very difficult game, and during the battle with the Cloud of Darkness I was so nervous I could have had a heart attack. Here are my questions.
1. What do the three stars on my file mean. I know they mean that I beat the game, but is there any other signifigence. Extra things perhaps.
2. Can you still go and fight the Cloud of Darkness again if you want to?
