I'm hoping ps4 will come out around then.

Well here is a site that sorta explains it

But the Mayans calendar ends in 2012 and its basically an astronomical (astrological..i don't know) event that they find to be important. What their calendar ending means though, we don't know.

Their calendar ending also signifies their calendar beginning. With no real basis, people like to say it means the end of the world.

I'd suggest to save up some money for that day, because a lot of people will join those cults and quit their jobs and start selling the stuff they think they don't need for cheap, to get the essentials like food and water.

My plasma will probably crap out by then too.

The end of the world is predicted about 3 or 4 times a year by some fringe group. No doubt some shrewd person is making a fortune off that thought through books or TV shows and putting the money away for their retirement after 2012.

Hi, its not true. It was suppose to happen in 1999 and years before that. There is no scientifical evidence that we are going to no longer exist in 2012. Just that the Myan Calander ends at that date so, many people think we will die. Not true at all. We are going to live for a few more millions of years. That is if we dont kill our ozone layer, or the "big cruch" theory or the sun does not become a red giant.

Sure, it's just as true as Y2K was at the end of 1999.

The long way to say, no.

As Humans, we've been predicting our end since we learned how to write. 2012 is just more of the same behavior.

Maybe, it's mystery to know what happens on December 21, 2012. All we can do is just wait and see.

well no one knows if the Mayans really thought the earth was going to end or if they just didn't get a chance to make a new calender.
