Is it normal to be extra picky , I mean I am starving and I haven't been this picky with food before... Ican't just eat anything...

I felt just like you do. My stomach was growling all of the time but I couldn't seem to find anything to eat that appealed to me, so I had to simply settle for foods I could "tolerate." Grocery shopping was really tough!

It depressed me sometimes that eating was no longer enjoyable. I couldn't even go out to restaurants or get take out and enjoy it.......but luckily the feeling gradually passes.

By the 2nd trimester I felt better and actually had cravings I could enjoy satisfying!

Absolutley! I could hardly touch food for the first three months, everything made me gag. There were certain things, but mostly it was water and juice that I could handle. I didn't ever really get morning sick either, it was just a total non appetite. Even stuff I liked, it was like two bites and I was done. Now though (watch out!), at 5 months I could eat a lot of food! Still a bit picky with what it is, but my apetite is back with force :) Good luck and don't worry, take your vitamins and your body will work through it!

Oh yes, I was the same way. First, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with meat. It didn't make me sick, I just had no desire for it whatsoever. It got to be very frustrating because I just couldn't find anything I wanted to eat.
Finally I made myself a peanutbutter and honey sandwich and I was saved! I ate at least 2 everyday while at work. OJ was another thing that I tolerated very well.

Your best bet is to try small servings of a couple different things that you normally like or comfort foods from your childhood.
Try things like tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwich, oatmeal, or simply just a bowl of cereal with milk. Go for simply dressed salads and try a few different types of fruits.

Don't freak if you actually lose a few pounds. I did and the doctors told me it was normal. Just be sure to take your pre-natal vitamins, drink plenty of water and other fluids, and experiment to see what foods you'll be able to tolerate for now. Trust me, it'll all change as you go into your second trimester.
I'm now 24 weeks along and once I hit the second I was able to start eating chicken again, pastas, and pizza. I just have to watch myself that I don't eat too much! LOL

Best of luck to you and your little-one-on-the-way!

I have been picky, and usually I'm not.

I'm eight weeks, and there are already things that I won't even consider eating.

Hamburger (or any ground meat for that fact)
Pizza
Hot Dogs

And a few other things. Eat what you think your stomach can handle, or just munch on some crackers and drink plenty of water.

Good Luck Love!

Yes it is normal. I was the same way, I only ate grilled cheese sandwiches and yogurt for my first trimester. I was not sick only could not bring myself to eat my normal diet. Your body will tell you what to eat. If you are starving you need to eat something, just find something plain like crackers, oatmeal, fruits, whatever it is that is right for you. Also, you need to eat when you take the vitamin unless you take it right before bed. If that is hurting your belly it may be the reason you have trouble eating. Good luck!

PERFECTLY normal. I'm 24 wks now, I felt the same way also. Just be CAREFUL around mid-2nd trimester, you might want to eat everything you see, and find yourself always trying to figure out where your next snack is coming from...;)

Yes, but I had morning sickness for months. I couldn't stand some of my favorite foods.

I actually lost weight the first few months. Alas, it will change and your appetite will be back to normal.

Me! I told my doc it was the best diet ever...I would gain a pound, then lose two..just didn't feel like eating. It will all catch up to you in the 2nd trimester! :o)

that is how my pregnancy was, I ate barely anything my first tri, grubbed my second tri, and didn't have much room in my third tri. Enjoy that second tri! My first tri, I could only eat pizza, I hated everything else.
