It is unlikely the US will ever be allowed to win another war. The PRESS & the LEFT will only permit POLICE actions; these by definition at best end in a stalemate. The rules of engagement also increase the US losses.
The really sad part is the LEFT doesn't have a clue on what they are doing.
I doubt the LEFT would even allow the US the win if we were fighting on our own soil.
Just ask Dianne Feinstein about amnesty!
The Press is the 5th column of the terrorist.

Years into the Iraq War, we are still in a major mess, with insurgents and Al Queda battling Americans and the Iraqi battling each other. The Generals sat back and said nothing as the situation there deteriorated. They did as Bremer said. They did not get together to fight for more troops, allowed the looting, allowed the Baathist Army to be disbanded, allowed Abu Ghraib, fumbled with Fallujah and generally helped create the mess we have today.
Now we have Petraeus and the Surge, which clearly isn't working, although they claim Progress, one aide saying, "The Progress isn't progressing as fast as we thought," an obvious understatement.
On one hand, Gen. Petraeus says he and Bush will evaluate the situation in September. On the other hand, Bush calls on more troops to head there this summer. It's almost as though the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. And now we have a new General to contend with, the Czar of War, of all things, named General Lute.
Senator Reid is nothing if not honest. He calls them as he sees them and it's about time someone took those Generals to task for being such wimps. Because of their cowardice and the Bush insistence on a needless War in Iraq, mishandling the situation from Day One and Mission Accomplished, we have some 3,500 or more dead soldiers, thousands of wounded soldiers, and a chaotic country that used to be Iraq.
I can only say "Give 'em Hell, Harry!" and cheer someone with the honesty and courage to say what he thinks.

"And kick butt". Now what does that mean? Pave Iraq from Kuwait to Turkey? The military is doing a fine job there considering it's a fool's war. We, the majority of Americans that is, have some idea that killing all Iraqi is not a good thing. But some folks think that's the way to do it.
The same argument was made in Vietnam by folks who never had a clue about the enemy or the problem. You seem to be in that class.

While you are talking draft diggers why don't you mention deserters (george w.) As for kicking but the military does not have a clue as to who they are fighting. How can you tell which person in a crowd wants to kill you if they are all dressed alike and are of the same nationality. It not as easy to kick but if you do not know which one to kick and no you can't just go in and kill everyone. As for your political belief's the military is totaly run by republicians and Harry Reid never fired any one. Our secetary of defense was on tv saying he was choosing the secetary of the navy to replace Peter Pace. He never mentioned that he had consulted with Hary Reid to get his aproval. So you have to believe that Hary Reid never fired the man. I know its an old republican to blame the mistakes off on the republicans but this one is not going to fly.

The Constitution grants to the legislative branch the power over the military budget, So Reid is exercising constitutional authority in his actions. It also grants to the legislative branch the power to declare war and make treaties so any peace must begin in Congress
As to draft dodgers in government you of course refer to the President right?

Don't forget that George Walker Bush had Bush Senior get him into the Texas Air National Guard instead of him going to go to do his service in Vietnam like so many others did. George Walker Bush was as well AWOL from the National Guard for 1 to 1 1/2 years and was illegally helping to campaign for a politician instead of serving his time as he was supposed to. Anybody else who is AWOL as George Walker Bush has had to do time, not the spoilt Ivy League Punk by the name George Walker Bush who didn't have to be responsible as he was above the Law. George Walker Bush has never been held accountable in his life and thinks he is God as President, while screw George Walker Bush the phony born again Christian whos only God is money and corporate America.

I agree with the butt kicking part. Why do you suppose we are there if we can't kick butt? If we weren't going to allow our troops to fight, why did we send them? Four years of practice to train the Iraqi army that we disbanded? Now in a flash of pure brilliance we are giving the Sunni insurgents arms. Will the craziness never cease?

This is typical of liberal politicians trying to run a war from the back seat...Reid and his pacifist cronies are truly enemies of this nation.

I agree, the last thing we need to do is take advice from the anti-conservative sissies in Congress and let the real men take care of business.
