i know you dig underground but where underground do i go.

I found out this while digging:
When you dig a spot and then you see that same spot, chances there will be something rare in there.
Answering your questions, there is no good place to get fossils. It is completely random.

There isn't an exact place because I have 2 cranidos one on the east side when i went underground and one on the west.

Go to your base and get on your PC then do Search for treasure and it will make yellow areas appear on the map that have items (Fossils,Heart Scales,Shards, and Revives).
