Actually, it isn't that rich. It could probably spend $1 per second for the next hundred years without realizing it had lost any money at all. But, if it tried to spend $1,000 per second, it would probably be flat broke in about 10 years.

Sort of an odd question -- depends on how you approach the question.

Coca Cola's market capitalization is $118.5 billion. This is what it would cost to buy all the stock in the company at the current price.

Coca Cola has $3.78 billion in cash, and it has debt of $6.44 billion (which means that it could not pay off all its debt simply with the cash on hand, but would need to sell some additional stock or sell some assets if it wanted to pay off this debt. However, Coca Cola has a good credit rating, and could likely borrow significantly more money if it wanted to).

In the past 12 months, Coca Cola has earned $8.01 billion before account for depreciation, amortization, interest and taxes (in finance, this is called EBITDA). Depreciation and amortization are non-cash expenses (just an accounting entry), and after interest and taxes and depreciation and amortization, Coca Cola earned $5.24 billion in the last 12 months.

So while Coca Cola's market capitalization is $118 billion, this isn't even close to being the highest. Microsoft is $291 billion, and GE is $388 billion. Google is $156.66 billion. Yahoo is only $37 billion.

The answer to your question is: yes.

How rich is the Coca-Cola company? Yes.

There is yet no number that accurately describes that kind of wealth. If they put cyanide into all their products for one day, the death toll would be in the billions. Kinda scary, eh?
