yes.. there is a slight difference..
the "month" sizes go according to weight...
so the more the child weighs the bigger the clothing.. you can have a 18 month old in 24 month clothing
2T is for toddlers ages 2-3 years old depending on their size...
they are also cut differently..
its the same as adult clothes... and shoes..
a child age 11 can fit into a size one jeans in juniors, and also a size 14-16 in children's.. but the cut is different depending on the shape of the body...
also the "month" sizes are for babies... you wouldnt find a onsie in size 2T.

There really isnt a huge difference. 2T stands for size 2 toddler. 24 months is the stage before 2T in size. In some clothes length may be a difference.

2T and 24 months are not much different in size. 24 months will fit bigger in the bottom area to accommodate a diaper whereas a 2T has less room in the legs, bottom, and waist and the pant legs will generally be longer. The difference between 2T and 24 months is very minimal. Here is a quote from a website "Q: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 24-MONTH TODDLER CLOTHING AND 2-T?
A: WE WENT TO TWO COMPANIES, GAP KIDS AND OSH-KOSH-B'GOSH TO GET YOUR ANSWER. BOTH COMPANIES AGREE THAT 24 MONTH CLOTHING IS FOR BABIES.
2-T IS FOR TWO YEAR OLD TODDLERS. THERE MAY BE SLIGHT DIFFERENCES IN WAIST SIZE AND INSEAM WITH 2-T BEING SLIGHTLY LARGER. HOWEVER THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 2-T AND 24 MONTH IS MINIMAL." from this website http://www.nbc4.com/answerstoaskliz2000/... And from http://www.purpleturtlekids.com/size_cha... "Many people want to know the difference between 24 months and 2 toddler. Infant clothes are designed with plenty of room for diapers. There will be snaps or zippers at the crotch to allow for easy diaper change. Toddler clothes need less room for a diaper. Therefore, they are narrower, and height becomes more important."

Yes, there is a difference. 2T is generally longer in the leg. But since it varies so much by brand, I buy either when my kids get into the 24 months size and then just save the stuff that is too big to use later.

I've noticed with lots of brands, the size 2t is just slightly longer in the legs than the 24 months.

The difference is that a 2T is a slimmer cut and some are longer in the legs than a 24 months.

2T are supposed to be for thinner bodyshapes.... at least that is what I have heard, honestly I don't find there is as much of a difference between 24 month and 2T as there is between brands.

I believe T sizes, i.e. 2T & 3T, are for children who are no longer wearing diapers so they are slimmer on top, whereas 24 & 36 month clothes are for children still in diapers.
