My grandson's circumcision was not done correctly. Instead of taking him to another doctor, my daughter in law brought him back to the same doctor, who chopped off even more. My gradson is now 10 years old and basically has about a 1 inch penis. Can anyone direct me to a doctor that can help him before he reaches puberty. Someone who perhaps specializes in this problem. Thank you

It sounds like too much skin was removed, which means that skin pulls back and restricts the size, which reduces his size. Dr. Greene describes it here.

That's one of circumcision many risks.

Unfortunately this is no easy fix (removing is easier than adding). My advice is to take him to a urologist that also specializes in pediatric urology (because chances are that he has seen similar cases before). From there, he/she can describe the options; it may be possible to use surgery to restore his foreskin or add some more skin so that it isn't restricted.

Heck, if that same doctor is still in practice, take him back to him so he knows what he has caused, and see if he can refer you to a good pediatric urologist.

I wish your grandson the best of luck. =)

It is unlikely that the size of your grandson's penis has been directly effected by a bad circumcision. If there is a lack of free skin it may cause him to have tight painful erections in later life so you are right in looking for solutions now. When too much skin has been removed the problem can be complex and needs to be assessed by urologist with experience of such cases.

Seek a pediatric urologist, specifically one at a large children's medical center. I live in NW PA and I would send someone to the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

You need to take him to a pediatric urologist although a 1 inch penis is ok for a 10 year old.
