The number of craters on the moon is uncountable, because no matter how much you magnify the moon you will still see more craters, the smallest being so small that they are invisible to the unaided eye. The crater pattern is a fractal.
This is complicated by the fact that craters accumulate at a nearly constant rate. The lack of an atmosphere, weather and recent geological processes ensures that many of these craters have remained relatively well preserved in comparison to those found on Earth.

None are visible with the naked eye. What you see are the light and dark areas. The dark areas are called Mares, and are flat laval plains.
Binoculars will reveal many craters and just a small telescope will show hundreds.
Since craters go from hundreds of kms wide down to just meters, there are likely to be millions of them on the moon. In many cases there are craters within craters within craters.

If I had to guess I would say that the naked eye crater count would be Mares, and large Basins, So. I would say 24

There are two MAJOR ones, I think one is called tycho's crater but it depends upon where you live and the time of year.
